The Upper Darby Police Department would like to recognize Miss Maura Cleary, an 11 year old 6th grade student from Sacred Heart School in Havertown. Today, with the help of her father Brian Cleary, she came into the Upper Darby Police Station to donate over 100 winter hats, more than 100 pairs of winter gloves and an assortment of warm scarves for those that are less fortunate during this cold holiday season. This effort is a part of her Confirmation Service Project and is certainly a timely donation. Maura partnered with the Dennis Kelly Division of the Ancient Order of Hibernians (AOH), the Philadelphia Eagles, and other interested donors to collect these items over the past several weeks. The Upper Darby Police Department is happy to join Maura’s team and will be working with our partners to make sure that the hats and gloves find their way to those most in need. Congratulations to Maura on a job very well done.
